The Mansion in Murder Swamp

Come join your favorite improvisers as they embark on a tale of mystery and terror, all with a little help from you. The Mansion In Murder Swamp is a Halloween story told in the style of a "choose your own adventure" book, so the audience will be asked to help guide the action throughout the entire tale. Will our intrepid characters escape disaster, or will they be the next victims of The Mansion In Murder Swamp? You decide!

The Portable Reality Show is the Jewel Box Theatre's own resident Comedy Improvisation Troupe. Entering it's third season, PRS keeps the audience laughing as we weave stories, songs, and full-length plays all made up on the spot based on your suggestions. Smart, fast, funny.

Improv theater is storytelling, or better said, playwriting on the spot. It has been said that acting in improv is like being an acrobat balancing on a high wire. Improvisers take suggestions for characters and situations from the audience and launch themselves into a story without the benefit of a safety net in the form of a script. Sometimes they succeed gloriously, often they fail ignominiously - but the results are always hilarious.

Whether you are a fan of improv comedy or haven't yet sampled the fun, come watch these undaunted aerialists of "The Portable Reality Show" try their wings. The troupe recently added four new members who will make their stage debut during the upcoming season.

This is an informal, improvisation work-out. This is not a class, more of a co-op. A time for improvisors to work on elements of improv in a positive group setting. Sunday nights from 6:30pm -8:30pm at The Jewel Box Theater, 225 Iverson St., Poulsbo, WA. Cost: $5.00, Free to all Portable Reality Show performers and all actors who have appeared in a Jewel box production.
